He just keeps walking, and every few minutes someone or something pulls the carpet, and he slips back in time, just a wee bit, but enough to pile up a continuing and serious sense of Deja-Vu. One problem with Deja-Vu is that it has a paradoxical nature... pile too many up, one on top of the other, and eventually you start thinking that the image before you is something that you never knew and will never remember.
