Got to get going, got to get there, got to get back, no time to waste... and he does walk faster, and the place he is going to does get closer. But at the end of the day, every night in the television, he sees a terrible thing... the earth has retreated from his feet, and he is rotating above it, in orbit, going round and round everyplace, still in contact with the living, and still able to see things... but without any friction between his feet and the ground, and no chance to rest.
